Middle of the road sauce is middle of the road. Don’t know why spicy is in the name, or why they serve wings at Pizza Hut, or why I’m reviewing all of them.` #3 Buffalo Medium These don’t necessarily taste any more or less garlic than anythign else.Īlmost no noticeable spice. Same weird (but kind of appealing) flavor profile as the rest of Pizza Hut’s buffalo line but with Garlic? Or at least the Garlic is advertised. Middle of the pack in a middle of the pack variety of sauces, I guess. Do these sound like the rest of the wing flavors that Pizza Hut/WingStreet offers? Well, they kind of are.
There’s a little sweetness, there’s a little soy. The rubbed wings are a bit crispier than their sauced counterparts and that’s good. The flavor was mild but unoffensive in pretty much every regard. I like that rub though, and these wings are pretty tasty. Yep, these sure are wings with a lemon pepper rub. This sauce has more of an asian feel to it compared to a traditional buffalo sauce, but is pretty nice. Rather than being too buttery, this mild sauce has a tanginess to it. Pizza Hut/WingStreet has bucked the mold here, with a sauce that remains true to its “Mild” name, but appears to have taken a different route on the “buffalo” trail. For this reason, I don’t like most buffalo mild sauces very much. Most mild buffalo sauces are boring and taste too much like butter and not enough like hot sauce. These aren’t bad, but they are not a shining example of their style. Also, the rub was unevenly distributed, with some wings getting lots and some getting almost none. This… struck me as more of a BBQ rub with a small amount of jerk seasoning instead of a true cajun rub. Neither the Parmesan nor the Garlic flavors were overwhelming and in fact there wasn’t much flavor at all. Unlike most sauces in this flavor which are very creamy, this one somehow was not. Definitely a very mild sauce with no heat at all to speak of, these Garlic Parmesan wings were… acceptable. But the reality slightly exceeded the appearance. The wings hardly breach the surface of this weird separated oil/cheese mixture. Really having a hard time getting over how my wings are just drowning in this sauce. You can read more about the project in the Intro, or check out the individual reviews: Don’t get wings at Pizza Hut/WingStop unless you really want them. You can read this article, but none of these wings are that good. This is a multi-week review and you’re currently looking at a work in progress. These wings are ranked from worst to best, with #1 being the best. This is where I rank & review all of the sauces from Pizza Hut/WingStreet.
